They have built expertise in the areas of drug manufacture, specialty labs, chemicals, and formulation development in the local and international market. Formulation of new ingredients constitutes about 65 percent of their total sales. It is one of India’s largest pharmaceutical companies. It was afterward renamed Piramal Healthcare Limited. It has about four subsidiaries of which its pharmaceutical industry is perhaps the largest. It is a conglomerate of the Piramal group with a special interest in healthcare, drug discovery, life sciences, and so on.
